Jim is a licensed instructor for the CYSA "F" and Goalkeeper course.  He is also a Certified Presenter of the Positive Coaching Alliance.  He has over 20 years of experience coaching both adults and children. Jim is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Coach Broshar’s playing experience includes: Lowell High School, UC Berkeley Varsity, San Francisco Soccer Football League, and East Bay Over 30 Soccer League. At UC Berkeley, Jim received his degree in Spanish Literature from the school of Letters & Science.

Jim's coaching experience includes: Alameda – Contra Costa YSL, St Mary's College HS, Berkeley: Girls Varsity Head Coach, Mills College, Assistant Varsity Coach, Golden Gate Women's Soccer league: Various teams, Gay Games 1986, Berkeley Women: Bronze medal and with the San Francisco Vikings where he is the current coach of the SFVSC G08 Red team.

Additionally, he has taken two Soccerfuturo trips to São Paolo, Brazil with youth teams, most recently with his SFVSC U13 boy’s team in June 2011. This enriching trip included a weeklong stay playing games, futsal and training with Brazilian coaches. Overall, it was an experience that taught players what true devotion, commitment and passion for the game looks like, creating an unbelievable atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie between our players and their Brazilian counterparts.
