Shortly after graduating from Dartmouth College, Coach Carlos Escobar began his coaching career at St. Ignatius High School in 2001. He served as the JV coach from 2001-2009. Coach Escobar’s JV coaching resume includes 1 Girls Private School JV title as well as 4 WCAL JV titles. In 2009, Coach Escobar was chosen to replace long-time and very successful varsity coach, Jan Mullen. This past season Coach Escobar guided the St. Ignatius Wildcats to the first berth in both the WCAL finals and CCS Division 2 finals in program history.
Coach Escobar’s playing experience includes 3 years as the varsity goalkeeper at St. Ignatius from 1994 - 96. Following a stellar playing career for the Wildcats Carlos became one of only two walk-on players to make the Dartmouth soccer program in 1996. After spending a year away from the game, Coach Escobar re-established his soccer roots at St. Ignatius and has been experiencing the rewards of coaching along the way.
