Born in Lima, Peru Jhon Colan grew up in a soccer rich country where he honed his skills as an accomplished player. As a youth his abilities were fostered in the pro environments of Deportivo Alto and Sipesa before making the first division clubs where he played for the following teams in Peru and Aruba from 1998 – 2003; Club Cienciano del Cuzco, Club Deportivo Municipal, and Club SV Dakota Aruba. In 2004 Jhon moved to the United States where he played for the San Francisco Seals and Glens in the PDL and has and continues to play for Concordia S.C. in the SFSFL Men’s Premier Division.
Colan’s coaching career began in 2004 with the San Francisco Seals Youth Teams when he matriculated to the United States and has continued to coach with various levels and genders in San Francisco. Currently he is the head coach of the SFVSC Barbarians Black Upper House team and has served in this position for the last two years while concurrently serving as a coach for Town School.
Coach Jhon Colan has a CYSA “E/D” License and has been a coach for the San Francisco Vikings Soccer Club for the last two years.
